Festival Board
This is a new opportunity for attracting different skills for the development, testing and utilisation of percussive sounds in the planning and delivery of the percussion festival under different conditions.
The artistic policy board will perform the first step of creating the challenge - that is challenging the way that percussion is always presented in a linear fashion - one performer is followed by the next. Linkages are made but they are not always creative and clear.
The artistic board will help to generate the work programme based on the Artistic Policy. It will help to reach a consensus on the use of creative percussion as a plank for new modes of music making under different settings for different groups. More work is expected to be carried out during the initial meetings.
The Festival Board will take responsibility for the creative development of festival productions. Representatives of collaborating organisations will join the Festival Board, which will have the role and functions of a task group or a producer group, and not a ‘talking shop’.
